When should you order a bespoke wedding dress?
It is the question we hear most at the atelier. Here is how much time to allow, what happens at each stage, and how to come prepared to the first appointment and the fittings.

The short answer: several months ahead
Ideally, contact us several months ahead. A bespoke dress is not picked off a rail: it is designed from a sketch, made in our workshop and adjusted over several fittings, and each stage needs its own time to be done without rushing.
If your wedding is soon, message us anyway: we will tell you honestly whether we can make it.
What happens during those months
First appointment
You tell us about your idea, your wedding and your style, calmly. We talk about how you want to feel on the day; we don't start from a catalogue model but from your story.
Sketch and fabrics
We draw your design and choose the right fabric together, according to the drape, movement and style of the dress.
Fittings
We make the dress in our workshop and adjust it to you at every fitting, until it feels exactly as you imagined.
Your big day
You leave with a one-of-a-kind dress, made precisely to your measurements.

How to prepare for the first appointment
- The date and venue of the wedding. The date lets us plan the fittings; the venue and time of day help us think about fabric and length.
- Photos or references you love. They help us understand your idea, but you don't need to arrive with a finished design.
- How you want to feel. Comfortable for dancing, elegant at the ceremony, true to your style: tell us, it is where the sketch begins.
- Your questions. About fabrics, necklines, sleeves or the train: that is what the appointment is for.
Fittings: what to bring
A few simple tips that make every fitting count:
- Your wedding shoes, or a pair of the same heel height: the length of the dress depends on them.
- The underwear you plan to wear on the day, so the fit is the real one.
- Veil, headpiece or jewellery, if you already have them, at one of the last fittings.

What if you already have a dress?
If you bought your dress elsewhere, we also alter it so it fits perfectly. We plan the fittings around your wedding date, so tell us the date when you book. More in wedding dress alterations and in our guide what can be altered on a wedding dress you bought.
How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?
Every dress is unique, so the price depends on the design, fabrics and work involved. After the first appointment we give you a personalised quote.
Mother of the bride or guest?
The timing works the same way for bespoke guest and mother-of-the-bride dresses: the sooner you tell us the date of the celebration, the better.
